About

Bristol Myers & Associates, P.C. — Austin, Texas

“You can talk to him like a real person. He’ll shoot you straight and explain everything so that you know what’s going on with your case. He really helped me out.”

You may be reading this because you have not yet experienced what our clients already know: When you hire us, you join a close-knit team of professionals dedicated to your success. We recognize that choosing a lawyer is a leap of faith. For us, building trust starts with listening to you and understanding your needs. A strong attorney-client relationship forms the foundation for your defense.

Our firm represents people, not cases. We tailor our services to solve the specific problems of our individual clients. We never treat you like a number and every member of our firm plays a specific part in your defense. Having said all of that, we would also like you to know that whether you decide to hire our firm or not, you will leave your initial consultation with us more informed, more prepared, and better off than you were when you walked in.

Dedication

Bristol Myers & Associates, P.C. is dedicated to criminal law. We keep current memberships with national, state and local criminal defense associations allowing us first hand knowledge of changes in the law, new tactics and political developments that can affect your case. More importantly, because we focus solely on criminal defense, we know the strategies that work for specific types of cases. We see the big picture, refusing to limit ourselves to turning out cookie-cutter defenses for a single type of crime. Criminal law is more complex than that and our team knows how to apply all of it to your advantage.

We are dedicated defenders. We take pride in the fact that we have never used our skills to prosecute anyone. We’ve always been on your side, and we always will be.

Diligence

Our defense never rests. We envision the potential for jury trial in every case, and we prepare accordingly. Our process begins with our first meeting. We carefully listen to your side of the story and answer your questions. We assess the impact of your case on all aspects of your life: your freedom, your family and your employment. With your involvement, we develop goals for your case and outline strategic plans.

Information is power. Through a process called discovery, prosecutors are asked to share what they know about your case through police reports, audiovisual recordings and test results. When prosecutors refuse to volunteer this information, we seek court orders forcing them to disclose it. We interview witnesses and maintain a network of experts and investigators who may assist in your defense. Civil hearings on drivers’ licenses, protective orders, and receiverships may also help us marshal evidence beneficial to you.

Once we have the facts, we examine the applicable law. We file motions to limit the prosecutions evidence against you. Your case may even be dismissed if we discover the police stopped you or searched you illegally, or if they violated your constitutional rights.

Your comfort level with the entire process is important to us too. As your case progresses, we take time to review the prosecution’s evidence and our own investigative results with you. We help you to understand what all of it means and prepare you for what to expect out of each and every hearing or court appearance.

Delivery

Our trademark is our willingness to take cases to trial. We enjoy choosing and working with juries. By being prepared, we enter the courtroom with confidence. Because we will have come to know you well along the road to trial, we can show the jury who you are as a person, that you are more than just the defendant.

We also understand that not everybody wants a trial and that trial is not always going to be the best option in every case. Despite this fact, preparing each case as if trial IS the only option is an absolute must in creating a strong platform for negotiation with prosecutors. Should you choose to negotiate rather than go to trial, you can also feel equally confident in our ability to achieve your goals outside of the courtroom.

Whatever your problem, whatever your goals, at Bristol Myers & Associates, P.C. we measure our success by your satisfaction.
